What size WB would you consider to small for a velky? Belt driven by the way.

The deck size shouldn't matter, they all sport the same engines and trannies,
the belt drivetrain, all that crap on the rear part of the frame is identical from one
to the next... Look at the mower, the front deck is a separate piece of frame, you
can take a 30" deck OFF from the back end and slap a 48" deck on it and it would still
look normal, the decks are interchangeable (not that we do this, but they are).

As for weight and traction and premature wear issues, if anything it's the bigger machines that might experience problems.

Would a Kohler 15 HP motor be O.K.?

The LCO that just bought my old Scag 36" belt is running a sulky with a 12.5 Kohler---and it's a 1995 model with the original engine.

Deck size might matter. If you are intending to use a two wheeled model, check to be sure the wheels run inside the deck width. If you have a 32" deck, but the wheels have a 38" tread width, the wheels are running over uncut grass, and also may snag something that is beyond the edge of the deck.

I have a 32 with a 10.5 briggs on it. Pulls my 230 lb butt around easily.
