To under-inflate or not to under-inflate?

I have two WB's with carlisle turf-saver tires. They are marked at 28 PSI. I have heard about underinflating to get more surface area of the tire on the turf. What do you guys inflate WB tires to?

For proper inflation you usually go by what the manufactuer says and not the max psi usually stamped on the tire. I always run ZTR's with lower air pressure for the ride. Not sure how that would benifit a WB exept for traction. 28 psi sound high to me. What does the book or manufacturer suggest?

12-14psi on Toros. Read Owners Manuals.

You can probably down load a owners manual from the site.

I've tried under-inflating the tires on my walk behind to soften the bounce. You know, when you're booting along as fast as you can and the bumps in the lawn make the machine bounce causing missed spots on the cut. Can't say that it really made a big difference. Sounded good in theory.

I run around 12 on mine.By the way it's not under inflated at that pressure, it's correctly inflated.

    I wouldn't go any higher than 15.

    I hope you weren't running 28! Yikes!
