Here are some pictures from a good sized project we finished on the seacoast earlier this year. I recently was just able to go back and get some completed pictures. This was a tough project because of the little to no space for staging materials. As you will see the lot lines are very close as the houses are packed in one on top of another. All the work was done at two houses next to one another. One house we just did sitting walls and granite steps and the other house was everything else.

I’ll start out with some before and after pictures and follow with the construction photos. I’ll do my best to explain what is going on in each picture but as always feel free to ask questions. Enjoy!(Also hold off on questions until I'm done posting please)

Before and after’s of the paver driveway.

    Ripping out neighbors sitting wall.

    All concrete is ripped out.

Finished taking down walls and taking out all loam and grass. We left the original footers for the sitting walls. Our new walls went directly over these, the footers were still in good shape and were 1.5’-2’ thick. The piece under the bucket is part of the footer.

Starting to take out old asphalt driveway

Excavating out 1.5’ of the original sub base. There was about 6” of good base so I pulled that off and saved it then excavated out the rest of the beach sand to the proper depth. This picture also shows the laser system I use. The receiver mounts to the boom magnetically so I never have to get out of the machine to check grades. I can also set the laser for pitches. No over or under dig with this system!

Loading up beach sand in to our tri-axle

I couldn’t resist… How many state guys does it take to unchain a machine!:hammerhead:

Compacting the sub-base with our Webber CR-8. As you will see from this set of pictures, I had nowhere to stage base gravel, so I prepped one side of the driveway at a time, using the other side as my staging area.

Laid down the first layer of geo-fabric and starting to cover it.

Second layer of fabric. There is a total of 3 layers under the driveway.

Compacting sub-base of other side of driveway.
