    Hey Redsox,
this was my first year in the business, and I have learned that you get what you pay for. All the craftsman junk I used, it got beat to crap, and now I am out shopping again.
I would suggest you buy the best you can afford if you are in it for the long run, then the stuff will last you a few years at least.
I am running only 21" mowers right now, so I am looking into a Honda or Toro for next year, but the larger walk behinds I have also looked at, and Exmark seems to be one I'd like to go with if I had large properties.
Stihl has always been pretty good from what I hear for the trimmers etc, but do some searches, as you'll find different people like different brands, like Echo, Husqvarna, Redmax, etc.
Good luck with the business, and hang in there,
the first year is rough, but you learn a lot!payup

Personally, I have Shindaiwa trimmers and stick edgers and Redmax and Stihl backpack blowers. I love them all but I think the Redmax and Shindaiwa are the best. I had an Echo trimmer when I started 2 years ago. It was ok, but i gave it back to home depot and bought a Shindaiwa. I gave it back because the trimmer head was a nightmare and sometimes it was hard to pull start. As for mowers i have a Bobcat w/b and a Exmark rider. the exmark is the best machine I have ever used. Like Twins said, you get what you pay for. Good luck!
