I've got a client that is signed up for the seasonal fertilization program but would like to have his yard topdressed, overseeded and aerated. I have yet to put down pre emergent; but now is the time to do it... should I put down the fert and wait a few weeks to aerate, topdress, and overseed? or can I do it right away? Any advice?

    Thanks

Once you put pre emerge down you won't be overseeding. Do you know what pre emerge does?

Seed cannot be applied for 6 weeks I believe after a preemergent is applied.

Instead put down a straight starter fert with the overseeding and skip the preemergent this year unless the lawn is so badly filled with crabgrass then tell him the seeding may have to wait until early fall.

As I understand it, aeration and top dressing should be done when the grass is growing vigorously. I didn't check your location, but I am still a few weeks away from "vigorous". As others have said, pre-emergents and re-seeding are oil and water.
