Toro’s Smooth Operator Video Challenge Deadline Extended Allows more contractors more time to show off their ‘smooth’ skills Originally scheduled to end in July, the Toro® Smooth Operator Video Challenge has been extended through August 31, 2009. With more landscape contractors popularizing Toro’s new Z Master® G3 and GrandStand™ mowers, company officials felt extra time was needed to give more contractors a chance to win. In the Smooth Operator Video Challenge, contractors post video testimonials about how the Z Master G3 or GrandStand mowers have helped smooth out their ride, and their business. The videos should specifically address at least two of the mowers’ innovative features: hillside stability, close-trimming ability, maneuverability, handling on rough terrain, overall cutting performance and finished appearance. Entries are voted on by fellow contractors, and among the prizes is a grand prize business-building marketing package and a trip for four to Walt Disney World in Orlando. Toro officials announced that this will be the only deadline extension, so contractors need to enter soon. Videos should be uploaded to YouTube.com and then linked to Lawnsite.com/tv no later than August 31, 2009. Voting is also happening at Lawnsite.com, so the sooner contractors enter, the more exposure their videos will receive. Voting ends August 31, and the winner will be announced and contacted after Labor Day. Official contest rules and detailed instructions for uploading videos can be found at Toro.com/smooth. The highest-ranked video from the final round will receive the grand prize, a “Smooth Out Your Business” Toro prize package that includes contractor direct mail pieces and advertising created and placed by Toro, plus a four-night stay at the Walt Disney World® Resort with four Park Hopper® passes and a special behind-the-scenes tour with Disney’s top landscape and horticulture specialists. Second- and third-place winners will receive Smooth Operator and Toro apparel.
