Hello, I am new to this forum. This spring I purchased a used Toro 724-Z Proline mower with a 60" deck. It has a 24HP Onan engine. I bought this machine to use as a backup. It has around 450 hours and it appears that the owner I purchased this from took good care of it. Has any one of you used these machines in the past? Any major problems?. I really like it. It handles well and goes fast. Also has a good cut. Any suggestions on the use of blades for this mower? Did Dixie Chopper build this for Toro? I would like to hear your comments or suggestions. Thanks!:)

I owned a 1987 Wheelhorse 718-Z back in the early 1990's. Dixie Chopper was involved in making that mower. Wheelhorse installed the engine and possibly the deck. Mine had an 18hp Kohler Magnum. Toro bought out Wheelhorse and used this series of zero turn mower until they began to make their own. Wheelhorse also used the Onan 24hp engine which I believe had the most horsepower of any air cooled engine at that time.

That mower is made only by TORO. There is no Dixie Chopper influence on it.
