wilsonbh, you picked a good time to buy. Mower sales are beginning to drop off pretty good right now. 635hrs, are low hrs for the Toro...actually, why are they so low? Anyway, make the guy a low offer, he just might bite!
Oh, one more thing, Exmark & Toro sell 2 to 1 over any other brand...just sayin'.

Has it quit raining in your area, my dealer is in the lower Piedmont of NC; about 6 miles from SC, and is still selling mowers like there is no tomorrow. Their sales are wide open to the point they have never seen it so strong at this time of the summer. We are usually somewhat dry by now, but not this year, his sales are through the roof.

His business portrays the look of someone with high priorities where lawn maintenance is concerned, as can be seen in the link below.

    My decision:
    Gravely PM148i, 23hp Kaw,48" deck, 818 hours
    or
    Toro Z Master 60, 27hp Kohler, 60" deck, 693 hours

    Both machines $3600

Which is best ? Leaning towards the Gravely only because it fits on my trailer. Will need to borrow another trailer to haul the Toro.

Let's put this way, you need to be smacked if you choose the gravely over the toro haha

    Gravely is a 2009 manufacture
    Toro is 2004

I'd still go with what I said before. The gravely was like a 5.5k mower and the toro would be like a 9k. Your going to put less hrs on the toro and it already has less hrs.

I think you're right & it's probably true here too. I guess I was referring to more typical sales patterns.

OK, you are in sinc with three others that recommend the TORO over the GRAVELY. My first choice was the TORO but the GRAVELY seemed to have the good reputation. I want something reliable and trouble free for at least another 1000 hours.

Seems the 2004 vintage is no issue then? The Gravely is a 2009 and it has only 120 hours more than the Toro. It has the smaller deck though.

I plan to buy one or the other Monday morning. I only have 1.25 acres to mow and the TORO may be too big for that.

This has become a difficult decision!!!!:dizzy:

get the toro, it has PLENTY of life left in it and will not let you down... I have used Toros and Exmarks ever since I started almost 11 years ago and have always loved them. Never used a Gravely but lets jut say I have heard the good the bad and the ugly about them.

Which Toro would you say is the better machine?

2011 Toro Commercial Grandstand 52 with 19hp motor and 350 hours ...or

    2004 Toro Z Master 60 with 693 hours and 27hp Kohler motor?

Both can be bought for $3600...
