Heard a rumor today that Toro was looking to withdraw from the commercial cutter market, and stay with the homeower, consumer z, and golf course turf care stuff.

    Anyone else hearing this?

Not likely. Considering they got a whole new line of 2007 Walk behind's coming out.

I think it would be GREAT!

They've got Exmark, which not very many residential users have heard of that could be moved into their full commercial brand. This would give them more resources to focus on growing the Toro name into a residential name like Murray and MTD (hey, the step into the box stores is the first in this process).

Toro for residential/golf and Exmark for full blown commercial. It'd be a great way to keep the two divisions/brands from trying to compete against each other.
