I have just been looking at the Toro Australia used equipment page and there are many Toro Greensmaster, for less than $2000!! When these mowers are selling for $20,000-$30,000 new the question is, Why are they so cheap second hand??

Maybe they have a lot of hours. The mowers that we use at the golf course have 2500+ hours.
  3. Aren't they the reel types? It'd be tough enough to keep a good reel type in service let alone an old junky one.

The things that go wrong with the greens mowers will be weak hydraulic system. The reels are fine as long as the real bearings are ok and there is enough material on the reel itself to get a couple of more grindings out of it. Most of our mowers will run between 2500 - 3000 hrs before we get rid of them, thats about the life of the gas engine and hydraulic system.

Well pretty much all these mowers have 2000+ hours but that would worry me, as long as the machines drive hydraulics worked Im not to worried about the reels.
