I am in the market for a new 36-48" fixed deck WB. It will replace a Toro 36" fixed deck. I am leaning towards the new Toro 40" Turbo Force fixed deck, however I have a concern over the performance of their new deck design. The deck looks as if it would clog alot easier with the semi open baffles around each blade. Has any on used this new design and how does it compare to their old open design? Does this new design work well with a soft sided bagger?

I don't have a walk behind, however I do have a 48" Turbo Force ZTR and it does really good. Yes, the deck will clog on you when you have the baffle closed, however this should only be closed when your mower semi dry grass. The adjustable baffle is there to adjust for the current grass conditions. When you get into thick and wet stuff open the baffle up and watch the grass fly with no clogging.
