    Mike,

You can go HERE and click on your serial number (4th one from the top) and download a operator's and parts manual that should help you with the hydro system service. The oil filter is Kohler part# 52 050 02.....

I sure am glad you found the problem, Not being able to see this thing I was about out of idea's....... Good Job ! Thumbs Up

Kind of a silly question huh Mike...... ;)

There should be one in the same place on the opposite side as well, Use the one that's easiest to get to.

Restrorob I found the oil drain plug.it was pushed up underneath the plate that holds the motor on the machine so i couldnt see it.I changed the oil in it. "it was really bad oil" like it hadnt been changed in years. Also i have been around to every autoparts store looking for mobil 424 hydraulic oil so i can change the fluid and nobodycarries it. is there something else i can look for.

Restrorob now that i got the machine running there is a new problem.
If i put the parking brake all the way down it stalls the machine.if i leave it halfway up it wont stall and i can move it.but ifi put full throttle to it and move the levers to move also it wants to stall out.and if i turn the bladeson she stalls out i was thinking of takinf the seat switch apart and seeing what that will do but its probably a simple thing.

    Mike,

After looking at the wire diagram for this machine and as I mentioned earlier on, You should be able to un-plug the seat switch and insert a jumper wire in the plug. If the machine functions as it's supposed to the seat switch is most likely at fault. If jumping the seat switch yields the same symptoms we have to dig deeper.
