the z master is a exelent mower. i have a 62inch 25hp kohlor. couldnt be happier with its performance. best cut on the market in my apinion. wont clump at all even in pouring rain. even has a great smooth ride and holds 12 gallons of gas so you can mow all day without refuiling. many great features. why not just get the 25hp reg air cooled engine on it like i have? its very quiet yet very powerful. what are some of the benifits of the new fuel injection engine? what is the price? great mower, you wont regret switching to the toro z master.

9800 is steep? but again..why the fuel injection engine? i got mine for 7200...not the cheapest but definitly the best dealer around. what is the mule belt? if you mean the belt off the back of the engine that makes a 90degree turn to the deck...no problems and all... i live in PA so i have never cut bahia but from what i have heard toro is one of thebest for it.

The mule drive is not as bad as it looks. I cut some Bahia and have never had a problem with it on my Kees. I am not sure about the pricing on the injected mowers (Toro and Exmark) I was under the impression they were like $1400 more than the 25 carb engine. However, I asked a Walker dealer that I know how much more the FI cost on the Walker and he said it was less than $500 more than the 25hp.
If it were only $500 or so I wouldn't hesitate to buy the 26 Kohler. They should use less fuel

I too am considering a 72 inch ZTR. The local Exmark dealer in southcental PA is offering 72 inch 26 hp F.I. Kohler ZTR for $9200. I currently use a John Deere F1145 for large area mowing with some VERY steep hills and was wondering how well the new Toro/Exmark machines will mow without marking. Also, does anyone have an estimated fuel consumption rate for this machine?

i think its something like 1.2 or 1.4 gallons a hour for the reg 25 air cooled...supposidly 15-20%less for the fuel injected engine.

I demoed the Exmark 72" Lazer Z EPS with the EFI last week. I was very impressed. The rep got on it first and took it up fairly steep hill that was covered with vetch about knee deep. He set the deck at 2.5" and was taking a full 6' swath at probaly 4 to 5 mph range with no bogging. I got on it out in a field with regular height grass and it cut great even running wide open. The supension seat on the EPS definetly smoothed out the ride. Also the EPS has the foot assist deck lift that the regular Z doesn't have. This will be handy in getting over potential scalp spots with the 72" deck. I plan on having one in the next couple of weeks.
Jay
