The 23hp Z was a great machine even if a bit under-powered. It's a full featured Z Master and will do fine under most conditions. IMO one can never have too much hp....but only the heavy, lush spring grass will slow it down. See if you can have a mechanic check it out for you before you plunk down your money though.....anything could be lurking beneath the hood (so to speak)....the asking price is good and the hours are just break in hours under normal circumstances. If I had it at my dealership it would retail for more that he is asking as long as everything checked out alright.....Good luck :usflag:

Thanks for the reply. Is it comparable to the z500 series on thier website? Do you know if it has the turbo force deck? the one with the adjustable baffles underneath? The price is negotiable but I haven't made an offer yet. The website shows so many and they all look somewhat alike, to a degree. Thanks again

It looks as though it is comparable to the 500. I have 2 of them and they look the same. As fa as price - i think that is good. You could always offer a little less being it looks like it has been sitting there in the yard for a while. Kohler engine should be fine, I have one kohler, rest are kawa's. 23hp - some same you need more power but if your doing weekly mowing with it, more than enough power. From what I know, it should have the turbo force deck. All 4 z's have them that I own. Hope this helps, good luck with the decision and it will make a good mower and hopefully make ya some money!

I think that is the same mower my neighbor has, if so it is a TurboForce, he does complain that it boggs down at times, but for a 60" cut what do you expect...especially when he is cutting some lawns every 2 weeks.
