I have a Chevy HD. Love the truck. I get 10mpg pulling my 6x12 landscape trailer with 1500 pounds of mowers. I'd like to get better gas mileage and not sacrifice much power. Anybody have a Toyota Tundra and use it in the same type of situation. And what is the gas mileage?

I have a 2000 Tundra access cab with the V8. It gets 20 on the road and 16 in town without towing. Towing with it drops it to around 13 around town with the ac on.

You only get 10 mpg towing just 1500 #? A Z and a 36 WB? That is brutal on gas bill.
With gas crazy like this, many of LCO in my town have downsized to small truck, like Ranger, Frontier and Tacoma pulling 5x8 or 5x10 with a 48" or 52" Z on it. They like the fact that their full tank can last them 300 plus miles, give or take @ 22 + mpg pulling small trailer with a Z.
What would you do if it costs $ 3.50-$4.00 /gal? This can happen soon...I see it coming.
