trailer brakes

    i have a 20ft gooseneck with brakes on one axle but they dont work was going to just replace the whole drum but cant for some reason get it off the axle. there is like a pin in the bearing looks like that if could get that out it would but it wont come out.

    Is it the drum that you're having trouble getting off the axle?

    May be different than smaller trailers but they have a cotter pin that keeps the nut from rotating. Take that out then you can unscrew the nut then you can pull the drum off if the pads are not grabbing onto the drum bad.
