I know there are a million posts but they dont cover my question can 03 v6 f150 pull a 12 ft enclosed trailer safley? Will it beat the truck down to nothing in no time? What are my other options?

    all comments are greatly appreciated

I would think that the truck should be able to pull that trailer just fine. I would suggest probably gettin a break controler and making sure the breaks on the trailer are working just to make it easier on the truck. If its an auto tranny then flush it every season atleast thats what i do but I only put about 15000mi a season on my truck. You probably wont win any races but i would think that the truck should be able to handle it

I pull a 12 ft. enclosed with a 2500HD Chevy but I occasionally pull it with my wife's 4.6 V8 Explorer. The Ex pulls it with no problems whatsoever, and your truck should handle it just fine. Just don't expect earth-shattering acceleration.

I use my '97 f150 fo tupll my 16' enclosed. It pulls around 5500 lbs daily and does just fine. Just use a brake controller and always keep your load balanced and you will be fine. You won't be setting any speed records but I can still get up to speed just fine.

I agree i would put a brake controller for sure which will take the heat for your truck when u go to stop. like everyone said you wont be setting any speed records but you'll get what you need done with it. My neighbor across the street owns a 16ft open trailer and he is able to pull it with his wifes chevy trail blazer and it has a 6 cylinder so you should be ok.

I pull a 12 ft. enclosed with a 2000 f150 with a 4.2 6 cyl. My truck has 175,000 miles and it had 23,000 when I bought it. Still trucking! Do watch the brakes though.
