I just bought a trailer from an ex-maintenance guy. It is 12'x6.5' single axle. It has a lockable trimmer rack, and a lockable tool cage in front. The deck is in decent shape, and the frame is like new. It has a 4' gate on the back... The guy was asking 975.00 I ended up talking him down to 825.00. Did I get a fair price? Or should I have spent more money and bought a new one. This one is about 2 yrs old...

I think you gave a very good price. I just sold a 16 x 6.5. Completely wore out, needed a new floor, the end gate was a 4 footer. However it had bent in a U shape when a anlge iron support broke and let a kaw. mule loaded with way to much stuff roll. I got 500.00 for it. So I think yours is cheap.

    Wilson Bros,

Thanks for the input. I looked at new ones and they ran about 950.00, but they were bare. No trimmer rack, or tool cage, and the gate was extra.

Me too just bought one. I went with a larger 18x 7. Put the ramps and rails on myself, building the trimmer racks. Two ramps curb side and rear. all total 1700.00 . I needed something haul sod, blocks, mowers, etc. so everything is removable the rails come of the trailer the side gate comes off and can be replaced by the rail. the trimmer racks can be on or off. I hate unhooking from the trailer. 65000 miles on my new truck and probably less than 20000 were with out a trailer.

I like the idea of detachable sides. I had to go with a little smaller trailer, because I am pulling w/ a Ram 1500. Any larger and I may have some trouble. Is your trailer tandem or single axle?

A 1/2 ton should have no problem pulling a tandem 16 or 18 footer.:)

They say that brakes on the trailer help. Make sure they work correctly and there should be no problem.
