I have a Royal Cargo trailer. The rear door was down and all of a sudden there was which sounded like an explosion.Turned to see if a car hit me from behind to find the spring that helps lift the gate snapped. The trailer is 2 years old and the dealer states this is common? So I guess every 2 years I have to replace this item at 350 bucks and pray Im not near the get when the cables go flying. Is this a joke or what, someone can get killed when this happens.

That door is surprisingly heavy with only one side lifting eh. Our carmate lasted almost three years and would have been longer but a bumper caught it in the parking lot and ripped her off (the cable---the spring was fine).
