I'm looking to get a JD 54 inch (not the mini Z). I have a JD 36" a JD 21" and a Billy goat Leaf vac. that I also have to get on a bigger trailer. I have done a search on trailers and come up with some idea's. The thing is. I want to be able to get it in my garage if I can. I would like a 16 foot long but with the extra 3 feet for the tail would put me at 19 foot. I don't think I would make it in the garage. So Any idea's on size trailer out there to fit the above equipment. I would highly appreciate any advise. I'm pulling my hair out here.

    Thanks again

Measure the length of your garage, then get the largest trailer that will fit. Another route is purchasing an enclosed trailer and keep outside.

  3. Correction a 16' trailer with a 4' tounge is 20 feet. Hard to find a 3' tounge on a 16 tandum utility trailer.

Measure the length of your garage then buy a trailer that will fit. or an enclosed one like Matt said above.

BTW what is a 3' tail?

    I have a 14' by 6.5' trailer. I fit a JD M653 54", Lesco 48", scag 48" and a little wonder blower on it.It is about 17 feet total.

I believe that he is talking about beavertail on the rear of trailer. It's something to help the mower from bottoming out the deck when driving on and off the trailer.

I apologize if this has been discussed, but doesn't the "beavertail" on the rear of a trailer just cut down on the useable space? Why not just have a longer ramp? Our 16' trailer has a 4-5ft or so ramp and it works just fine (I don't know its' exact length off the top of my head).

I use the tail of mine. It dosen't cut my usable space. I also have a 4' gate. The trailer is 20' from front of trailer to the end of the tail.
