I'M driving my 98 F-150 to the store tonight and on the way up this hill I loose power to the wheels. I mean the truck has neutral in reverse, drive,2nd,1st and grinds like heck when I try to put it in park. Any ideas as to what the he?? happened? HELP

Is it a 4x4. If does, does it have electronic engagement (push button 4x4).

Just a guess but it sounds exactly like what a manual shift 4x4 does. If you put the 4x4 shift in nuetral and try to put the transmission in park it will grind and obviously no power to the wheels. Might try looking there for your probelm, maybe a short in the electronic engagement.

Usually a transmission will show some sort of indication that it's going south before it just quits. Hope this at least gives you a start point.
