trans.fluid John Deere

    What transmission fluid type are you John Deere F725 MOWER operators using? Thanks

    According to the JD Manual you use the JD HY-Gard. The fluid is good from about -20 degree up to 122 degrees F. The following is straight from the F725 Manual. Hope this helps.


    HYDROSTATIC DRIVE OIL
    Use oil viscosity based on the expected air temperature
    range during the period between oil changes.
    John Deere HY-GARD® Transmission/Hydraulic Oil is
    recommended.
    Other oils may be used if they are QUATROL® oils or if
    they meet John Deere Standard JDM J20A or J20B.
    Automatic transmission fluids of Type M2C33F or
    M2C33G may also be used.
    Oils meeting Military Specification MIL-L-46167A may be
    used as arctic oils.

    Thanks fellows.I have been told that you get better service out or dextron 111 ,and was wondering what others were using. George
