I have an 2004 36" exmark metro model #M3613KAC. Today as I started it up to let it idle for a bit, I noticed and smelled smoke coming from under the engine deck. When I looked under to check the belts, the tranny drive/tension pulley was very hot and not spinning as it should. I freed it up be hand, it spins now but makes a grinding noise. I'm assuming the bearings are bad in this pulley? Does this sound right?? For this pulley I have part # 323285, is this correct. Thanks for any help

Sorry I can't help as far as the item#s go but yes the issue sounds like your trans idler pulley has failed I would replace both the pulley and belt since you said it had already started smoking.

I don't know if it makes any difference but I came up with 1-323285 and the 1 doesn't mean quantity either.
