Transplanting Blue Spruce

    I have never tried to transplant the blue spruce:
    these trees are about 8 feet tall and very full does any one have any suggestions to help me?

    Dig them before the new growth pushes out. The branches will lay flatter if you tie them from top to bottom. Size of ball should be around 10",s for every 1" of caliber,you can cheat that a little after the 40" mark. Taper the ball as usual. Soil should be just moist, not wet or dry. Tap root is no problem at that size. good luck.

    Keep in mind that if you use an antitranspirant (WiltPruf) on a blue spruce, it will not look blue for quite some time.
