Treat weeds before aeration & topdressing?

I'm getting ready to aerate and top dress my lawn. I'm looking for advice on weed control.

The lawn is about 35,000 square feet of Compadre zoysia in its third growing season. The turf is thick and lush in about 85 to 90 percent of the yard. I have some clover, fescue, crabgrass, spurge and other weeds in the thin areas.

I want to aerate and top dress within the next couple of weeks, so that the turf has several weeks to work with the new amendments before it goes into dormancy (historically in my lawn that is late October to early November).

Should I treat for the weeds before the A/T treatment, or ignore the weeds for now and do pre-em later?
