I have a property that has several Maples that grow roots above the ground. Every year I cut a couple of the bigger roots and in the Spring they heal over and the trees are doing fine. I have another lot that has lots of Weeping Willow roots above the ground, they are a real pain. Keep growing back so I cut big pieces out of them. I bought a brand new Scott's mower two years ago, my wife hit a Willow stump hidden in long grass with it and bent the mower deck where the spindle attached. It sounded like a helicopter when you engaged the deck. I took it back with 37 hrs on it and told HD it did it since new.. Got all my money back. :)
