Can people stop calling a trimmer a weed eater please!!!!? It's sounds like a toy and unprofessional. It doesn't eat weeds!! It trims grass and weeds to match the cut of a lawn and obviously we have some larger trimming jobs. I'm kinda sick of it.

It's just a throw back from when the "weed eater" and "weed whacker" brands were such a household names that's what everyone called them.

Don't come to Texas, man. We call anything carbonated a coke. As in, "I'm going to the store to get a coke, you want one? If so, what kind." "yeah, a dr. pepper sounds good"

i think weed eater is a more common used name for it, i have called it trimming or a trimmer with customers and they think of hedge trimmers

Yeah, I call it a trimmer around my help and the dealer, but a weed eater around my customers so they don't get confused.

I call it a string trimmer and list it as " string trimming " on quotes

Good call on referring to it as a "string trimmer". Much more pro than "weedeater", and much less confusing than "trimmer".
