Buy a trimmer trap, it's not worth the trouble.

Yes I have built my own. Seen them at a dealer, said they were $200. I went home and built a set just like 'em for about $25. I would not build my own again because I just looked at a set at Lowes for $60. Not worth the time and aggrevation.

Lawn-n-gardens, are you just looking for a project to work on, or is it to save money?

If it's to save money, I got mine for $99 and they hold 3 trimmers. These aren't top of the line, but I don't really have any complaints about them either. If you're interested I'll try to find the website I found them on. LMK.

Both a project while I still have time and to save a little dough,I bought a Lincon gas mig last year and love playing with it,I built a storage box out of 1-1/2 x 3/16 angle and flat steel mesh last week for the front of my trailer, just waiting for it to warm up so I can paint it.

Built these for free. Had the steel tubing and gun racks (for pickup truck rear windows) already. You can have either 2 or 4 place rack.
They fit kind of close but you can just alternate trimmer and engine ends to fit.

The latch. Squeeze the black hook and slide U-bolt up to unlatch, reverse to latch. Just the right size for trimmers and has a rubber coating to prevent scratching.

Or you can use the long shackle trailer padlocks like this. In the last pic I accidentally broke the hook when bending it to keep the "latch" u bolt from sliding up but this is how its supposed to be:

I built a set, kinda copied the greentouch design.the trimmers bounced around so bad it broke the trimmer shaft under the handle.I let them go with the trailer.I've also built bac-pac sprayer and blower racks but haven't mounted them yet on new trailer.--SORRY no pictures.:(

grassdaddy, a friend had that happen. I guess it needs to have a more secure fit like mine. Both of my trimmers use cable drive instead of solid or hollow steel shaft so damage isn't even possible unless you mean the tube that the cables are housed in...
