Anyone here running a 5.8L Triton? Just curious what kind of luck your having with them.
Do you mean a 5.4L Triton in a Ford?
Yes 5.4L Dont know what i was thinking...
There are a few different versions of those engines. Some have spark plug plague.
I have had nothing but Ford trucks. The 5.4L is a great engine, good work horse, and equal power to GM's 5.3L. The Ford 6 speed transmission is far better mated to the 5.4L than the older 4 speed. I went from a 2004 to a 2010 and huge difference in drivability and gas mileage. The F-150 tows with great stability and the engine/trans combo is better than any other half ton out there. I put 130,000 miles on the 2004 without even a hiccup. Hope this helps.
I'm on my 4th cargo van with that engine. I run them 7 days a week. They will run over 300k if you maintain them. I think the spark plug issue was fixed in '03? I did have a '98 pop a plug, helicoil fixed it for several more miles until I retired it.
