I have a 2001 48" HP with 15Kawi. Seems that I cannot get the mowers choke to engage, unless I manually hold it open with my finger...thus throttle cable seems loose. I have tried adjusting many times but just won't work. Should I cut the cable to make it shorter? Any other ideas

Here is my suggestion. Set the throttle 1/8" from the top of the slot. Pull the cable to engage the choke and tighten the clamp. Usually if the throttle is all the way to the top when you tighten the clamp it may not operate properly. This is a common problem and this should take care of it.

I would give that a try first, if you still have an issue we have to look at other things. You could have a bent clamp, cable routed wrong, cable in the wrong hole....

    Thanks, Fred.
