I just bought a pickup with a fiberglass cap and I was wondering if anyone know how much the cap weighs. 8ft box, looking for estimate.

200 pounds tops... I had one on my old '82 chevy (8' bed) and I removed it when I was 18 by myself. I picked it up on my back basically from the middle, I know there would be no way I could have done that if it was heavier, lol. in other words they aren't that heavy, just awkward to handle alone! 2 people would have no troubles getting it on there. Make sure you get good foam tape stuff for it to protect the top of your bed rails as well as seal the water out.

I would also use some thin strips of wood there the C-Clamps hold the cap on. If you don't you could possible bend the bed rails. Unless of course, you don't care about your bed.
