just had my mechanic install one of the truck craft aluminum dump inserts with the salter as well. it is now "jumpy" when i go to raise/lower the bed. does this mean that i just need to add some more tranny fluid or that i need to have the cylinder redone?

i believe its air in the cylinder. With it all the way down you can remove the cap screw on top of the cylinder (allen head). Look inside and im guessing you will see the oil not to the top. You can either top it off there or hit the up button quickly (oil we shoot very high) to remove the air. Reinstall the cap screw and check the resvoir level. That should fix it.

Truck craft has the manual online that states this also. I printed one off when I bought one used.
