Hey guys, I bought a 2000 Ford Ranger in September, 2005 and got it at $6600.00. The private party value is $8200.00 and trade in is $6300.00. My payoff is $6313.00. A local dealer has a 1999 Ford F-250 for sale at $8995.00. The dealer told me they would give me $6300.00 on my trade. I can almost certainly get the dealer to $8500.00. Let me know if you think the deal is good after viewing this comparison. 1999 Ford F-250 XLT 135,000 Miles 5.4L V8 Regular Cab, Long Bed 4 Wheel Dr Fiberglass Bed Shell Towing Package Alloy Wheels Automatic Transmission Power Everything, Cruise, Tilt, CD Player Carpeted Bed Running Floor Board Dual Exhaust (sounds pretty cool) Excellent Tires Excellent Interior and Exterior 2000 Ford Ranger XLT 104,500 Miles 4.0L V6 SuperCab, Short Bed $ Wheel Dr Towing Package Alloy Wheels Automatic Transmission Power Everything, Cruise, Tilt, Cd Player (one window bounces as going down, right power lock does not work) Tonno Cover Toolbox Needs new tires in spring (2 cupped, 2 low tread) Multiple dings on exterior (paint chips and on medium dent) Stain on driver seat and ripped seat covers (hard to find right size, original fabric very ugly) I definetly like the way the F-250 drove and its lack of visual defects. Mileage is the only problem. The F-250 has got some balls for sure. My insurance will also be $225.00 cheaper per year. I also get a $200.00 Wal-Mart gift certificate with any purchase from the dealer on a pre-owned. Can you say 20 pairs of discounted sweatpants? Me neither. What do you guys think? Thanks for any thoughts and opinions you may have. Have fun with the snow and cash money it brings.
