I've got one of everything. I'd say that the F-250 can do 95% of what I need done in my business. The half ton (1500) is really pushing it by the time its pulling a 16' trailer with 2 mowers, etc and a load of grass. Trailer brakes are a must with the 1500. The F350 and F450 are dumps and the only thing they can do that my F250 can't is haul large amounts of dirt, mulch, rock etc. We do snow removal too and the bigger trucks are better for that.

More than 1/2 not quite 3/4 ton imo. I routinely haul my camper at 9000#'s but have also hauled a large wood chipper on several occasions at 12k. The 5.7l v8 is rated at 381 hp, if equipped correctly it'll put out 500 hp. The only thing limititing the truck is the rear suspension, I put a set of air lift air bags and gauges on mine and that helped it 10 fold. We've had tug of wars up here between 3/4 ton and tundra and tundra has smoked em' time and time again.

Sounds like a heavy half. I have a 96 GMC that is about that range.

All my trucks are half-tons but as time went on, I realized it's time for some 3/4 tons.
