tryed liquid 12-0-0 iron from lesco. waste of money? or not?

    playing with my tank sprayer on my lawn and tryed lesco 12-0-0 iron and my friend says it is a waste of money?
    what do you guys think ?

    If chelated Iron is a waste of money then someone should run out and tell all the GC Super's not to buy anymore 50 Gal drums of the stuff. LOL

    I like using Iron to green up turf. If applied at the proper rate you get an instant green effect, without increasing the Nitrogen. This is especially important this time of year, most disease loves high N concentrations and heat.

    The lesco Iron i used is not cheated.I switched to FE 8%,and I use sequential nutrients FE,both have much better color,and last longer at 1/4 the rate of the Lesco Iron.Try one of the better iron formulations before you judge them.I love to use Iron now,jjst like Jim said,high N on bentgrass is a recipe for brown patch,and the dreaded pythium blight during hot spells,so I can keep the greens nice and green without over fertilizing them.I go thru at least 30 gallons of FE 8%,and only spray greens,tees,collars-no fairways.I spray at 1-2 OZ/1000.
