I was on my third yard this morning and I went to fire up the turf tracer HP, and it started but I have never heard a mower sound like this did, The best way I can describe it is to say it sounded like it was only half on? So I shut it off quick, waited a few seconds and tryed again, it sounded the same way but after a few seconds the other "half" kicked in and it ran like normal the rest of the day. What was this? This is the mowers 4th season and I am hoping it lasts for another couple weeks until I can get another mower. It does get a ton of use. Anyone else have this happen?

Posible failing coil. Had that happen once. Ran like you described.

Uhm, throat congestion, once it coughed that up it was gtg.

    I mean...
I would monitor it for the next few days, now I'm sorry already if it keeps doing it
but right now no sense in worrying about it too much, it might not do it ever again
or only once in a moon, too.

As I like to say, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Maybe only running on one cylinder?
    bad plug....needle value leak causing flooding....coil...plug wire......etc?
I've had engines do that in the past.
If it ain't a serious problem, it may be best to just ignore it.

have a safe and prosperous season....

My buddy had the same problem with a naviagtor he sold. It was only running on one cylinder. It would run on two after it warmed up. He tried putting new plugs in but that did not help. He ended up replacing the coil.
