Hmm.. I was hanging out at my buddy's work today at a house they were painting.

In the rear of the house there was suppose to be sod installed..
The landscaper then arrived and I was talking to him for a bit and asked him a few questions on his method of sod installation and it did make sense to me, but have you guys ever done this?

He put down 3/4 crushed rocks
then laid landscape fabric on top
    then he put bedding sand
    then he put fabric again
then he put topsoil, levelled it
    then he put sod

I was like whoa! I thought you only put that on soil? lol..

he said his method there is no moss growing and that if you just laid the sod on just the soil moss will grow??

I found his method of sod installation interesting, any of you guys do it?

i think roots need to adapt to the soil, not fabric and rocks!

Sounds like an awful lot of work for not much gain. There are easier ways to keep moss away.

Ya, welp.. I'm just relying the message I got from him..

he said it helps with drainage, keeps water away so moss doesn't grow doing this method?

He use to just lay sod ontop of the existing soil after you level/grade it, but he doesnt do that anymore because he said of water and drainage?!?! go figure..

If you have that much rain that you need to do that just put a drain in the lawn

You can do it that way but ill underbid him every time.
