Purchased a Bod Boy 72" with a 27 H.P. Kaw. It seems under powered; has anyone had the same experience or ran the 35 H.P. Vangard?

With a 72 deck, I'd have gotten a big block.

Yeah big block or diesel would have been better. 27 hp is about right for a 61" deck. My breakdown would be 19 hp for 46", 23 hp for 52", 27 hp for 61, and big block or large diesel for anything bigger than 61". It will work fine for you but you will have to slow down a little.

Ya, My exmark z 60 inch deck with 25 kohler is weak. Tall short, it don't matter, it still has not enough power. A 72 inch should have had a 31 or 32 horse. Or even the cat engine

My dealer found someone that wants what I have so we're trading for a couple of days. He has the diesel with a 60" deck so I should see a big improvement; I'm not sure how he will feel about mine. He doesn't mow commercial so it may work fine.
