    URGENT:MAY !, 2012 MAJOR OUTBREAK OF TORNADOES AND SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS FORECAST THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT OVER PARTS OF THE NORTHERN MIDWEST, THE OHIO VALLEY AND VIRGINIA AND NORTH CAROLINA AS WELL AS PARTS OF THE MISSOURI VALLEY LATER TONIGHT.

    A very strong wind field in the upper atmosphere is carrying several disturbances over an area that stretches from South Dakota and Minnesota through Indiana and Ohio and Kentucky, east to the shores of North Carolina and Virginia.

    As of 4PM CDT, numerous severe thunderstorm and tornado watches were in effect from now until later tonight. More watches are likely. Numerous Severe Thunderstorm Warnings are in effect with the potential of any of these storms to become quickly tornadic.
