I am buying a home with 5 acres to mow. It is mostly level. I was looking at a new fastrak 19/54, but I have come across a used 2006 Mini Z 52" with a Kawasaki 19 hp. The used Mini Z seems to be in good condition has about 220 hours, and is priced a few hundred less that a new Fastrak.

Would I be better off with the new fastrak or the used Mini Z? Anything that I should watch out for on a used Mini Z?

    Thanks,
    Fred

    Hard decision.....
The new FasTrak will come with a 4 year warranty, the Mini Z sounds like it may be out of warranty...
Both have the same deck design, no problems there...
    Are you looking at a 19/48 or a 21/54?
Same engine (if your looking at the 19/48)... thats a wash..
New engine at 0 hours vs used with 220..... hmmm leaning towards new...
Main thing here is going to be the drive system, both a great systems, if you were going to be doing slopes / hills I would lean towards the Mini Z, since your on flat ground, I would lean towards the FasTrak for all teh reasons listed here.
Either way you cant go wrong, they are Hustlers !!... lol...

I am leaning toward the mini Z (19/52), since it is priced at $4500, $500 less than the Fastrak. Should I be worried about the 220 hours on the mini Z?

    Thanks,
    Fred

if maintained properly I would not worry about 220 hours.
I would really still lean toward the new FasTrak with a 4 year warranty though.
