Hi everyone. I have an opportunity to pick up a 05 SCAG TURF TIGER zero Turn Rider, 61" ADVANTAGE DECK, 27 HP KOHLER engine. with 1100 HOURS,LARGE GRASS GOBBLER CATCHER. the mower is in great condition and they are asking $4900 would that be a good deal or not. Any help would be great

Doesn't seem that bad of a deal to me. 250 hrs a year over five years is not a lot of hours. I believe new that thing is around 10k. Since they are ASKING 4900 OFFER a little less and see what you can both agree on.

I would go for 4500 if possible, that 4900 sounds a little to much, 1100 hours is not a whole lot either, but I would try to come down with the price a little bit. Cash Talks, BS walks.

    $4900 sounds a little high.

No, unless it's a diesel I would say you can probably do better.

I couldn't get more than 5,000 for my '06 60" 25hp Kawasaki Ztr with under 200 hours if I tried.

And folks may not want to hear this but the Blue Book on a mower is just like on a car, it drops like a rock,
unfortunately a mower that age, at the most it shouldn't cost more than half the price of new.
Unless it was garage kept and looks it, maybe then, but the hours are too high for that...

    Yeah ...

FIRST: What type of mower do you have? Are you comparing your SCAG to this mower or anyother brand? If its another brand it would be clost to being pointless.

SECOND: If the cost new for this mower is 10k, then the ASKING (thats the key here) price of this mower seems to be right on.

THIRD: How come it automatically can't be garage kept? 275 hrs per year over 4 years. Assuming 30 weeks in a year that's only 10 hrs per week...not much in the commercial world (IMHO).

Granted a little more needs to be found out about the mower...does it burn oil, are their leaks around the seals, how are the belts, are the tires bald, is the deck all banged up, is it rusted up bad, is the seat all ripped, spindle condition, etc. I dunno, huge assumption, but I would think this was for a farm or something where they were cutting a few acres a week on the farm.

it is worth around 4000 and 4500.

But if it is in really really good shape with almost perfect paint then it is worth 4900$
