I've been searching on craigslist for a used Toro push mower. I've found a few and tomorrow I'm going to take a look at them.

I really don't want to waste my money on a clunker. I am very clueless when it comes to determining the quality of a used mower.

I've searched a lot on this forum and Google but still feel that I don't know enough to spend my money wisely. I've read that I need to check the quality of the oil, if the mower starts with the first pull, and to see if the blade cuts even.

Can anyone else inform me on the other things I should check on the mowers? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. I'm sorry if this has been asked multiple times but I've tried searching for hours and haven't found a thread that completely covers this topic.

Get any paperwork on it. 21in'ers usually don't have hour meters, at least the ones I've seen, but ask about how many times it was used per week.

If you can find one for a good deal, get a commerical style. I picked up a lightly used Exmark 21 earlier this year for $650.00 and couldn't be happier with it.
