I was just wondering how many of you use fb to advertise your company by having a page. Do you get a lot hits from it?

Also have you ever paid to advertise on fb, and if so how was it?

    Thanks ,

I have used it. I have probably paid a total of $30 dollars for advertisements. I have gotten over 100 "likes" ( be aware that this doesn't mean much do to the fact people will like and forget the page ) and probably 3 or 4 clients out of it. It really depends on your area. If you live in a smaller town and try to reach out, your total hits may me pretty low compared to someone who lives in a 500,000+ city. I would do a test run and pay about 5-10 dollars a day, so you don't waste a lot of money if it doesn't work.

I don't because Facebook requires you to create a personal page in order to create one for your business and I have no interest in that.

What category would be most applicable to use it for lawn maintenance and landscaping services?

I said local business on mine, and listed it under "professional services". There is a tag you can put in for landscaping.

I just made one this past weekend. I already got a call to do a lawn estimate.

I never used one up until about 8 months ago. My wife, a marketing and advertising specialist, was the one who talked me into it after a year of bugging me about it.

I stared the page and within 30 minutes I had about 65 'likes'. By last month I had double that. Most of them I know but some of them I don't.

Social media is FREE...why wouldn't someone take advantage of it? Facebook. LinkedIn. Twitter. All FREE.

Realistically it can get out to thousands of people in your area as long as you keep it updated with posts every week or so.
