I never thought about it, but my wife mentioned to me last year about passing out my business cards at her work. She told me at least 8 people in her office use LCOs and I know most of her co-workers any way from various functions. Well this year she did pass out my flyer and these co-workers want me to bid on there yards. It seems like as long as I am close to there current bids, I am in.
I will be cutting my parents yard this year,( where I grew up,) and my mom said she would hand my flyer to her neighbors. I never took on business in this way before, always advertised and stayed away from referrals from relatives. I sort of hate getting business this way. But at the same time, if one of my current customer's friend or relative started an LCO I would more than likely be out. It seems like networking and not advertising as much is the way to go this year.

Nothing wrong with getting accounts this way. I believe that is how most people start getting work.
