When I have one of my zones running I noticed I have low Pressure.while I was walking around I heard a noise coming from my valve box.while the zone was running I open the bleeder valve and the zone had total pressure and working fine.after I shut down the zone and restarted a zone test went back to low pressure .it seems to me that maybe the valve is sticking or can anyone give me some expert advice.

did you take the valve apart or check your voltage out put?

how about the resistance of the particular valve?

  3. Sounds like you have a richdel/hardie/irritrol 205. Take a pic and post. We'll advise on servicing it.

    1) defective diaphragm assembly
    2) blockage in the solenoid pathway

  5. Sounds like the diaphragm has lost its ability to flex and fully open...diaphragm needs replacing ...report back with the type and model of the valve...

Bingo! My thought exactly. Most likely the diaphragm.

is the flow control turned way down? if it's not a bad diaphragm, thats what it sounds like. open it all the way up.

If my memory serves me right, and it depends on the valve, but I'm pretty sure that if you crank down the flow control, even the bleeder won't open it.

    true true.....

but hissing will come from a turned down flow on a valve, thats where i pulled that from

  10. Only other valve I think it could be is a HR series valve and that would follow Boots solenoid restriction problem. If it is the 205 we generally just gut the valve and replace with all new parts. Bonnet/diaphragm/solenoid.
