I have a new mower with a velocity deck and was wondering if it really needs the HUGE spacer between the deck and spindle. On my advantage fixed deck the spacers are 1/4" and on the the Velocity floating deck there is only 1 spacer that's around 2". With the 2" spacer the blades are even with the bottom of the deck, which if I am correct, reduces suction. When I adjust the blades on the velocity to about 4 1/2 in. the actual cut is around 3 or 3 1/2 in. So the highest cut I can really achieve is around 4 or 4 1/2 in.
