Volvo a good deal?

    is it just me? or does 8 gears not seem like enough for a tri axle?

    It's doable just not gonna win any stoplights. If ~400hp/8ll's can handle field loaded grain trailers a tri-axle will be fine. Looks kinda rough tho, not anything big, but the bed and driverside mirror make me think it was run pretty hard.

    would something in much nicer shape but with 400k on it be a better option?

    Depends how it was taken care of mechanically. That's why I prefer to buy private party if I'm buying used. Those truck dealers can hide a lot of abuse under some fresh paint and tire shine.
