I only have 30 mid to small size residential accounts that I carried over from last year. I have a 32" exmark metro that I love for back yards. I want a larger cut for the fronts and larger properties. I am a solo operation and it get VERY hot in Texas, should I spend the extra money on a ZT or is that more of a want than a need? I will be adding more accounts soon and want to make the work as easy as possible.

    Hydro 52" or 52" Lazer?

If you get into the price of a 52" Hydro...you will be close enough that you should go with the Z. I would suggest something like the Lazer HP 23/52

IMHO a Z is way too big for small residential. Lots of bigger companies use them here and I get tons of business taking over their accounts. Of course the operator has to know how to use the machine, but most don't. I use 44" Toro belt drives for my residentials. They even fit through about 80% of the back yards I mow as well. Walking is a pain so get some jungle wheels.
