    There is nothing wrong with the 1550.

    Everything has it's use.

    Spend the money on a bomag or a stone something w 5000 cf or more- the wacker is not that bad but u should by something w mord power u should start right from the get go..

    Schrock, I have no idea whats the costs are new or used. Try a google search to try to get a feel for what they may go for.

    Buying used is not bad, but depending on the age, it may need work that you can't see. Like those rubber isolation bushings may be worn out. Also the engines take in ALOTTA dust, so if its more than 24 months old - the engine's rings may be about shot.

    I'd probably "BID" up to $600 or $700. Depends on the age and use. If its a year or less in age it may go for more.

    I've never bought a used one.

    Many folks here wont participate in a 1550 thread, because of EGO.

    Wackers are like pick up trucks.

    You know, guys need a $40,000.00 3/4 ton diesel pick up for doing estimates and running the business.

    Same with wackers. They need 5000# to compact them pavers into the bedding sand!

    Thank god mother nature and genetics was on my side and I don't have those insecurity complexes.....

    It has nothing to do w an ego ,as a professional installer dont u want to deliver the finest long lasting product to ur customer . If ur vehicle spec 10_w30 would u use 15 w 40??????
