depends on summer or winter i have a trusty ole harbor freight compactor cost me about $150 used. im not saying its the best. but it does the job ok. and we have used it on jobs with nuclear testing, and passed compaction. when she dies ill probally replace with a wacker or something similar, but that Briggs motor is a tough cookie to kill. the tamp is the same brand as the FREE paver saw iv got, a tile guy left it on the job the home owner thought it was mine, i said no not mine i think its the tile guy. after 4 months no one would claim it (ego i guess) so she gave it to me. little 10" blade works great and cheap to operate. that little 110 volt saw is a dream, we cant kill the dumb thing either.
